Mind Your Fashion – Charity

Mind Your Fashion started by Jude Kingston gives back to the world of fashion. She has over three decades of experience in the fashion industry with an impressive 25-year tenure as a fashion buyer in Australia and New Zealand. This extensive experience laid a strong foundation for her subsequent roles, including the position as Finance Director for a New York based fashion organisation. Her keen business acumen and strategic vision have significantly contributed to the growth and success of every organisation with which she has been associated.

The world of fashion is considerable and as a creative discipline it is a complex art that has high business, artistic and cognitive demands. To maintain longevity in the ever-changing world of fashion requires substantial resilience and an immense investment of personal energy and time. The industry is competitive and Jude found a source of strength to overcome many of the challenges she endured in the world of fashion.

In 2020, she founded Mind Your Fashion, a charity that focuses on mental health awareness and support within the fashion industry. Under her impressive leadership, Mind Your Fashion has become a vital resource for industry professionals, offering a range of programs and initiatives designed to promote well-being and resilience. Jude holds formal qualifications in the area of psycho-social safety with a Diploma in Health Psychology and operates from a grass roots level and supporting emerging and established designers and models.

Jude’s commitment to her cause is evident in her role as a charity partner and speaker at numerous high-profile events, including Times Square Fashion Week, Queensland Art & Fashion Festival, Tasmanian Fashion Festival, Toowoomba Fashion Festival, and Praema Runway.

Her work as a stylist for Eurovision and organiser of various Mind Your Fashion events in Brisbane, Melbourne, and New York further highlight her versatility, influence and passion for mental wealth within the industry. Jude has made various media appearances, including numerous interviews on ABC Radio, multiple podcast features and continues to advocate for mental well-being within the fashion world. She is often called upon as a contributing writer for industry journals such as Inside Retail and has been a featured personality in publications such as Style Magazine, Ragtrader and Village Voice. As a sought-after keynote speaker and lecturer of choice at the Global Sourcing Expo, TAFE, QUT, and RMIT, and having presented at New York Fashion Week on multiple occasions, she has solidified herself as an industry expert.

In her charity that she serves as a mentor and consultant for new and emerging designers, providing invaluable guidance, support and opportunities to the next generation of fashion talent. As an active participant in a demanding field she puts her own mental well-being and the well-being of the industry at the forefront of her focus.  Contributing at the local, national and global level requires the highest level of commitment both cognitively and emotionally, and Jude is well equipped to deal with these demands. Although she is effortlessly capable, she works harder than most to achieve these goals both for herself and the wider community, and constantly challenges herself and others to improve and achieve.

If you have a fashion event coming up, get in touch with her as a keynote to promote mental well-being and support your mental health within the fashion industry.
